The Importance of Self-Care

One of my favorite topics to discuss with clients, friends & family is the importance of practicing self-care. You will often hear people encouraging ‘Self-Care Sundays’. I think it’s imperative to take this practice and incorporate it into your daily and weekly routine.


We are all in a state of constant “doing”. Between managing our personal and professional lives - it’s easy to forget to prioritize time for self-care. What brings you joy and tranquility on a mental and physical level?


For me, self-care can be as simple as taking a hot bath with Epsom salts or making myself a nice breakfast in the morning. Whenever I find myself in a state of stress or experiencing the feeling of depletion, I know I have fallen out of my routine of daily self care.

✨Reduces stress and anxiety

✨Provides time for reflection and creativity

✨Boost your self-esteem and overall happiness

✨Improves relationships (when you fill your cup, you show up better in relationships)


Self-care doesn’t have to be time consuming or expensive. I enjoy daily and monthly practices that I look forward too!


Examples of self care:


✨Warm bath with Epsom salts and essential oils

✨Prioritizing a good night’s sleep

✨Making myself a nice meal

✨Infrared Sauna

✨Facial

✨Exercise (I look forward to going to a yoga class every Sunday mornings)

✨Acupuncture

✨Spending time in nature

✨Saying no to something you don’t want to do or cancelling plans when you feel overwhelmed


I hope this post encourages you to incorporate more self care into your every day life! If you are not practicing any self care at the moment, start small. Pick one day a week and block off an hour on your calendar to give back to yourself. 😘
